WorldatWork Survey:
Employers Increasing Salaries and Flexibility Programs

An August 6 WorkforceWeek.com story reported on a recent WorldatWork employer survey. It found that employers plan to increase salaries by 3.9 percent in 2009 to help counter rising inflation. In addition, firms are also adding flexibility programs. According to the survey, "In the past year, there has been a 40 percent increase in the number of companies offering such programs."

On Sept. 21, 2006, Flex Options hosted a teleconference on older workers. Raytheon Expands Flexibility through Comprehensive Approach

Raytheon Missile Systems has expanded their workplace flexibility programs by using an innovative team approach that tackles management resistance to flexibility. The approach includes a comprehensive training program, and taps into a multi-department team of Human Resources, Information Technology and Facilities personnel. Flex Options in the News

Benefit News reported on the Flex Options national teleconference "Innovations in Workplace Flexibility." The story is a helpful read regarding what some small firms are doing to attract and retain employees using flexibility. The article "Flex With a Twist" reviews the practices of the three outstanding panelists who presented on the teleconference. Richard Sheridan of Menlo Innovations reviewed his "extreme job-sharing" practice; Kim Kleeman, Shakespeare Squared, offers a range of benefits any worker would love; and Todd Flemming, Infrasafe, says that his company's success with flexibility rests on hiring the right people.

Women of Excellence, Inc. located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania recently announced the completion and implementation of the center’s new 2008 Employee Handbook and Personnel Policies Manual.
