Connie is a business executive who has enjoyed significant success in the financial services industry. Throughout her career she has distinguished herself as a leader with the business savvy to envision and create organizational change processes that enhance customer service, empower employees, improve quality, and reduce operating expenses. In addition, she is recognized by her colleagues for her intellect, integrity, and creativity.
Most recently, Connie has founded a consulting firm that specializes in business ethics. She teaches Business Ethics at the University of California, Los Angeles Extension.
Through 2003, Connie served as the Senior Vice President and Trust Executive for the Bank of America in its Los Angeles office with responsibility for 2600 accounts and $1.3 billion of assets under management. She also worked in a variety of project positions at the Bank of America. During its merger with NationsBank she redesigned client management and delivery processes for Consumer Credit Real Estate and Small Business resulting in more focused, effective, and profitable services. Connie also developed an organization and processes that included complex costing and cost allocation models that enabled Human Resources to run like a business.
Connie joined the Bank in 1989 as the Manager of Corporate Trust with responsibility for more than $37 billion in bonds and a business unit of 350 employees. Connie inherited a troubled organization that had recently received an unsatisfactory audit rating. Within the first year she raised this to a satisfactory rating and another year later grew revenues 22% above plan.
Prior to joining Bank of America, Connie worked for Bankers Trust Company of California as the Sales and Marketing Manager. In this role she was instrumental in incorporating relationships and accounts acquired from Wells Fargo and from Crocker Bank. She managed trust administration at Crocker Bank from 1984 to 1985 and began her career with the US Department of Labor.
Connie holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and a BA from the University of Kansas. She has been a frequent speaker at the American Bankers Association, Corporate Fiduciaries of the West and other professional associations. She currently is a member of the Development Council at the University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business and she is a mentor for the U.S. Department of Labor and serves on the Boards of the Hollywood United Methodist Church and the Unity School in Missouri
